Range Rover Sport SVR
The Range Rover Sport SVR is one of the coolest cars to have ever been produced, in my opinion. Its 542 bhp engine provides it with everything it needs to accelerate to 60 mph in a completely insane 4.5 seconds. With a maximum torque of 680 Nm and a top speed of 162 mph, the SVR is undoubtedly one of the greatest SUVs out there.
Now though, Overfinch have worked their magic. And the SVR has got even better.
Overfinch
Overfinch’s roots can be traced back to 1975, when the performance Range Rover started its life. Work began to improve the car using 4 Dellorto carburettors and other modifications to the exterior. Through the years they worked on many notable projects, until recently, in 2019, they produced the Overfinch Range Rover and the Overfinch Range Rover Sport in 2020. These are perhaps the most well-known models that the company have produced on the market today.
They have now unveiled the Overfinch Supersport. It looks good.

Features
Basically, they’ve reduced the weight, in order to increase agility, speed and acceleration. Despite now having 22 inch wheels (adding an inch to the diameter of those of the original SVR), 5.5 kg will be saved per piece, compared to the factory model. Ignoring the spare wheel, that’s 22 kg of weight saved already. Mad. The wheels are also 0.5 inches wider, for an increased amount of grip.
A bonnet constructed entirely of carbon fibre will also save 5 kg, along with a titanium exhaust which weighs just 14.8 kg – a saving of 11 kg. This system has been specifically designed to reduce exhaust back pressure by 60%. More modifications from Overfinch include a new intake system, secondary intake and an intake duct created using the latest F1 3D printing technology. There will not even be an Overfinch name on the front, to keep the weight down.
Performance
While we don’t yet have any figures for it, since the SVR is already so mindbogglingly fast, we can expect great things. With the significant amount of weight lost, the Supersport will certainly have improved acceleration and handling, and you don’t need to be a genius to predict that it will be a pleasure to drive.
Price
Yeah, it’s a bombshell. The price of the launch vehicle is priced at as close to £200,000 as makes no difference. Prices start from £179,990.
The thing is, this is a fantastic car. The SVR itself is beautiful and these modifications make it even better. But I do have a slight problem with paying double the amount of the original car itself for upgrades which are this small. Yes, it’s good, but I don’t think it’s worth that much. They’re charging this much just because they can.
The fact is, this car has near enough the same RRP as a Lamborghini Huracan. As great as it would be to drive the Supersport, a whole new market opens at these extreme prices. And, personally, I’d have to get something else.
