Take a look at the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage that has been designed for the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este car event, that is focused around showing off the best in car design concepts.
Any one with a drop of petrol in their blood will be fond of the original BMW 3.0 CSL. What a real machine this car was, both from a performance and design perspective. Now BMW have created a hommage concept car that tips its head to the classic CSL.
BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Design
The bright yellow concept seems to incorporate a few elements from the current BMW 6 Series, however, there are lots of new elements also. The front end is very complicated due to the tall grille and harsh bumper design and the arches that fold up over the bonnet. And the rear of the car still sports the high boot spoiler and roof spoiler just above the rear window.
The original CSL was as light as possible and the Hommage we see here is no different, the car features a range of carbon fibre reinforced plastic components shedding every last gram possible off the car.
Performance Specification
The only technical information we have heard about the 3.0 CSL Hommage is that it will use an inline six pot engine with eBoost. But for now we can simply stop and marvel at the body of this car, what a looker.
With an engine like the 3.0 CSL oil changes would need to be done at regular intervals to stop it from expiring.
