Nico Hulkenberg Gets Candid On The Inside Line F1 Podcast
As the hunt for Nico Rosberg’s replacement and a possible announcement is delayed till the start of the New Year, we bring to you a special feature on the Inside Line F1 Podcast. We’ve seen how radio messages have turned around Formula 1. In our view, they’ve played a great role in turning boring races into interesting ones. To pay our tribute to ‘radio messages’, we’ve interviewed some of the best Formula 1 drivers to find out their funniest radio messages and stumped them by asking them to crack the best Formula 1 joke they’ve heard. Renault-bound Nico Hulkenberg helps us kick-start this special series and he’ll be followed by Sergio Perez next.
Who Will Grab Nico Rosberg’s Throne In Mercedes?
And while the hottest topic of discussion still remains ‘Rosberg’s replacement’, we really hope that Bernie Ecclestone and the powers that control Formula 1 are working behind the scenes to announce a New Year gift for fans by confirming a Fernando Alonso – Lewis Hamilton pairing at Mercedes in 2020. This is when Alonso (and Briatore) has confirmed that his dream remains to his third title with McLaren! Blah!
Increasingly, it seems like Valtteri Bottas will get the nod, his relationship with Toto Wolff notwithstanding. And should that be the case, there’s good chance that Formula 1’s much-loved and just-retired Felipe Massa might make a comeback to steer Williams through the publicly-hyped-but-could-also-flop new regulations of 2020.
Max Verstappen, The Master Overtaker
No episode is ever complete without talking about Max Verstappen and his overtakes. This week, we express no surprise at him winning the FIA ‘Action of the Year’ award, his 78 overtaking moves (also the highest in class!) and him being THE ONLY driver to have overtaken Sebastian Vettel in the 2016 Formula 1 Season. For more, remember to tune-in to this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast where Nico ‘The Hulk’ Hulkenberg dishes out some of his funny memories of the sport.
